The Washington Capitals and Philadelphia Flyers will be the opening act of one of the busiest nights in NHL history.

In partnership with ESPN, the league is bringing back Frozen Frenzy, where all 32 NHL teams are playing. The 16 games have staggered start times beginning at 6 pm and ending at 11 pm. Thirteen consecutive puck drops are separated by only 15 minutes each.

The Capitals-Flyers matchup is the first game of ESPN’s triple-header tonight. Puck drop at Wells Fargo Center is at 6 pm. The game is being nationally televised on ESPN and can be streamed on ESPN+ either online or through the app.

ESPN’s Bob Wischusen will provide play-by-play while Ray Ferraro will be the color commentator. They’ll be joined in-house by Emily Kaplan who will provide reporting. Steve Levy, Mark Messier, and Arda Öcal will have highlights and analysis in the ESPN studio. Dave Jackson will serve as the telecast’s rules analyst.

The game marks Alex Ovechkin’s “historical” first game against Russian young star Matvei Michkov.

To be clear, the game is not airing on Monumental Sports Network, and there will be no Joe Beninati or Craig Laughlin tonight. If you turn on the game at 7 pm, you will have missed all of the first period and the start of the second, which will be tragic, especially if Alex Ovechkin scores early.

The game can be heard on the radio via 106.7 The Fan (FM) and Caps Radio 24/7.

The full schedule of Frozen Frenzy games tonight, including the start times and TV channels can be viewed here.
