The Hershey Bears have been forced back home by two straight wins from the Cleveland Monsters in the Eastern Conference Finals. Hershey will have their third opportunity to close out the series when they take the ice for Game 6 at Giant Center on Monday night.
The Bears were burned by a poor second period on Saturday night which saw them allow four straight goals to the Monsters after Logan Day had given Hershey a lead heading into the first intermission. Hunter Shepard was pulled in favor of Clay Stevenson before the third period.
Aaron Ness, Pierrick Dubé, and Lucas Johansen remain out of the lineup due to injury. Henrik Rybinski has replaced Matthew Phillips on the team’s second line and Matt Strome is back on the fourth line.
Shepard’s absence from the Bears’ crease lasts just one period as he’ll get his 13th start of the postseason.
The Coachella Valley Firebirds have already advanced to the Calder Cup Final from the Western Conference Finals. They have made their way to Hershey to begin practicing ahead of finding out their next and final opponent.
