The Washington Capitals will be without veteran winger Tom Wilson when they take on the Winnipeg Jets north of the border for the first time this season.
Wilson missed the team’s morning skate at Canada Life Centre for what was called “maintenance” but is now being labeled as an “upper-body” injury by Capitals PR.
Wilson has missed just one other game this season due to the broken nose he suffered in early January.

The 29-year-old forward skated 17:28 of ice time against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday night and scored his 15th goal of the season on a power play during the first period. He made it through the game without any clear sign of injury.
Wilson will be replaced in the lineup by the returning TJ Oshie. Oshie was activated off of injured reserve on Monday after being out of action with his own upper-body injury since February 22. He’ll slide right into Wilson’s spot on a line with Connor McMichael and Max Pacioretty.
Charlie Lindgren will get the start in net despite also missing Monday’s morning skate. Lindgren will have started the last six games for the Capitals.
