Nicklas Backstrom has only tweeted 209 times ever, but his first tweet of the 2019 calendar year is pure fire.
The NHL’s PR account, in an effort to promote the NHL Draft on Friday, told its followers that Nicklas Backstrom has the most points of all 2006 draftees. One fan pointed out that Backstrom has never won an individual trophy.
Nicky had a response for that.
The highest-scoring player from the 2006 #NHLDraft – the last one to take place in Vancouver – is @Capitals forward @backstrom19 (231-642—873 in 895 GP).#NHLStats: https://t.co/TVVXzQAtpc #TBT pic.twitter.com/sJzRJllCV2

Backstrom, of course, is referring to the Capitals’ Stanley Cup victory in 2018, where Washington defeated the Vegas Golden Knights in five games.
And while that’s a team award, all players who win the Stanley Cup get a tiny replica themselves, so Nicky’s right on all accounts here.
