NHL insider Bob McKenzie is reporting that Ryan Reaves will not be suspended or have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety for his hit on Tom Wilson.
Reaves was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct after hitting Wilson late and from the blindside.
Ryan Reaves’ hit on Tom Wilson last night, which resulted in a major penalty/game misconduct for interference and also knocked Wilson out of the game with injury, will not result in any supplementary discipline by the NHL.

Despite the likely head injury that occurred due to the hit, Reaves appears to have squeaked by supplemental discipline because he made contact with Wilson’s shoulder.
Reaves won’t face any supplemental discipline for his hit on Wilson, per source. Not surprising — interference rarely warrants a suspension without head contact. Reaves hit was through shoulder, and while it was late and properly called on ice, not so late that it gets more.

After the game, Reaves told reporters that he did not think he’d be punished.
“No. I don’t think so,” Reaves said. “I thought it was shoulder to shoulder and I didn’t think it was that late.”
