Flip or Flop’s Christina El Moussa captured by CSN at Caps-Ducks game

Late in the first period of the Ducks-Capitals game, CSN cameras took a live shot of the crowd. While they promoted their Twitter question of the night, they captured HGTV’s Christina El Moussa sitting in the lower bowl with a friend.

El Moussa stars on the show Flip or Flop with her husband Tarek. The couple recently got national attention due to an explosive fight they had at their California home.

Beninati and Laughlin did not recognize the HGTV star when doing commentary.

Earlier in the evening, Christina posted a photo at the game on her Instagram account.

Flip or Flop has been airing on HGTV since 2013.

According to Wikipedia:

Tarek and Christina run a real-estate agency, “The El Moussa Group”, in Orange County, California, an area with one of the largest foreclosure rates in the country. Tarek, Christina, and their partner Pete De Best, bought their first investment house in Santa Ana for $115,000. After selling the property for a profit of $34,000, the trio split the money and continued to flip houses, expanding their real estate investing business into Arizona and Nevada.

The weekly program details process of buying a dilapidated house — typically bank-owned, short sales or foreclosures — and renovating it to make a profit. Christina’s expertise is primarily in design. The couple have two children and seem to have the perfect family on TV.

However, things did not seem so perfect during the winter. Tarek, 35, filed for divorce from Christina in January after seven years of marriage. The news came a month after the former couple announced they were separating in the aftermath of a May 2016 fight at their home in Orange County, California.

TMZ was the first to report the incident:

Their ordeal started, at least publicly, in May when deputies responded to “a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun” at the couple’s Orange County home. According to law enforcement, a massive presence showed up — 11 deputies and a helicopter.

Witnesses told cops they saw Tarek grab a gun from his safe, run out the back door and flee down a hiking trail. Shortly after, Christina was seen running out of the house crying and shaking.

Within minutes, the helicopter spotted Tarek on a trail and deputies told him to drop his weapon. Tarek complied and told deputies he had no intention of hurting himself. He said he wanted to “blow off some steam,” and only brought the gun for mountain lions and rattlesnakes.

Deputies went back to the house and ended up seizing 5 guns, including an AR-15.

Christina and Tarek tell us they decided to separate while they reevaluate their marriage. As far as the incident goes … they’ll only say it was an “unfortunate misunderstanding.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight Saturday, Christina revealed that she’s finally in a good place since the incident.

“Honestly, I’m doing really good. I’m in a really good place,” she said. “The kids are really happy, they’re healthy, Tarek and I are in a good spot. We have a lot of things that we’re working on, cool things coming in the future, so we’re just looking forward.”

And there’s nothing that inspires happiness more than a game of hockey.
