Saturday night in Los Angeles, Alex Ovechkin got national attention after diving and awkwardly falling into the Caps bench to avoid a too many men penalty.
Three nights later, Ovechkin was still having trouble making a shift change.
With 7:32 left in the third period, Ovechkin put his leg over the dasher boards to join his linemates on the ice – except his skate never made it over the bench. Ovechkin began falling head first towards the ice until Marcus Johansson reached out and made the Caps save of the night.
Upon closer look, Ovechkin flashed a wry smile to Johansson as if to say Thank you for saving my life.
I too would like what’s in Ovechkin’s watter bottle.
