Third period goals by John Carlson and Andre Burakovsky send Penguins fans home early

After falling into a 3-1 series hole last season, the Capitals lost in Game Six. This year, the Capitals have defiantly revised that script, scoring five goals on the Penguins in Game Six and forcing a Game Seven.

Capitals defenseman John Carlson and forward Andre Burakovsky scored goals one minute and twelve seconds apart to dispatch the Penguins.

The Caps will play the deciding game Wednesday at Verizon Center.

Carlson goal

John Carlson made it 4-0 after taking a pass from Matt Niskanen and rifling the puck home. The goal was Carlson’s second goal of the postseason.

Burakovsky’s second goal

Burakovsky would make it 5-0, scoring his second goal of the night on a mirror image of his tally from Saturday. He held onto the puck past a Penguins defender and roofed the shot past a helpless Marc-Andre Fleury.

Watch as defeated Penguins fans head for the exits early. I could watch this all day. Their tears are delicious.
