After scoring 7th PPG, TJ Oshie is tied for league lead in power-play goals

If Alex Ovechkin’s office is the left circle, TJ Oshie’s cubicle is located in the high slot.

The Capitals sniper, who was signed by general manager Brian MacLellan to an eight-year retirement deal over the summer, is scoring at the same rate he did last season, tallying his tenth goal in 21 games. He sits second on the Capitals in goals, three behind Alex Ovechkin for the team lead.

Oshie was the benefactor of some great passing by Nicklas Backstrom and Evgeny Kuznetsov as well as former teammate Daniel Winnik cheating up to take away a pass to Alex Ovechkin.

Oshie shanked his one-timer a bit, but the puck, flipping end-over-end, still managed to beat Wild goaltender Alex Stalock.

Oshie could be spotted saying “good pass” to Evgeny Kuznetsov on the bench after the tally.

Oshie is now shooting 50% on the power play (seven for 14). His seventh PPG ties him for the league lead with Steven Stamkos.
