Lucas Johansen scores a goal in consecutive games against Lehigh Valley

Capitals 2016 first-round pick Lucas Johansen started out his first professional season in the AHL hot, scoring nine points in his first 12 games for the Hershey Bears. After a cold streak (three points in his last 11 games), Johansen looks to be heating back up.

Friday, in the first half of a home-and-home with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Johansen scored a goal in the Bears’ 5-4 loss. Saturday, Johansen opened the scoring in Chocolatetown, kicking off a 4-2 win for Hershey.

Goal 1, Friday

In the first game, Johansen kick-started a Hershey comeback. Down 5-1 early in the third, the defenseman took a pass at the point and made a move to the middle of the ice. Johansen’s deceptive release found its way to the back of the net.

Hershey would score twice more, but ended up falling 5-4.

Goal 2, Saturday

Saturday, Hershey was on the power play in the first period when the puck found Johansen all alone in the front of the crease. Johansen put the puck five-hole for his second goal in two days.

Hershey would lead the rest of the way to a 4-2 victory, capped off by Tyler Graovac‘s first AHL goal of the year.

Full game highlights
