An Islanders fan brought a ‘Tom Wilson kicks puppies’ sign to the game last night. Michael Latta liked the post on Instagram.

Monday night at Barclays Center, Islanders fans showed Tom Wilson that he still has a special place in their hearts after ending the career of Lubomir Visnovsky.

During warmups, an Islanders fan held up a sign that read Tom Wilson kicks puppies.

Big, if true

The image was published by the Instagram account Spittin’ Chiclets. I can confirm Wilson is not a puppy kicker, but, in fact, an actual puppy foster dad.

Nonetheless, Wilson’s former roommate Michael Latta liked the photo on Instagram.

This is not the first time, nor probably the last, that Wilson has been targeted with an angry sign from Isles fans. One fan brought a Wilson Sucks sign to a Capis-Isles regular season game in November 2015. Wilson posted the sign on his Instagram account and commented sarcastically, “That hurts 😭.”

The fan later had a change of heart and met Wilson at Kettler Capitals Iceplex.

During last night’s game, Wilson also received some shade on social media.

I can assure you, Isles Blog, Whip is not afraid of Thomas Hickey.

S/T to RMNB crasher Lindsey for the heads up.
