Karl Alzner has never been known for his offensive abilities, but during the first period of the Montreal Canadien’s game against the Vancouver Canucks, the former Capital threw a puck to the net and a very good thing happened.
Alzner scored his first goal as a Montreal Canadien in his 42nd game with the team.

Alzner intercepted a full-ice pass attempt by Vancouver Canucks goaltender Anders Nilsson. Finding himself in the offesenive zone with only forward Brendan Gallagher and four Canucks players, Alzner opted to shoot towards the net.
To everyone’s shock, the biscuit went in the basket.
Gallagher may have been more surprised than Alzner.
Alzner also assisted on Gallagher’s third period, go-ahead, game-winning goal.
The Canadiens would go on to win 5-2.
The goal is Alzner’s 20th career tally. He has appeared in 633 games.
Congrats, Karl.
