There are own goals and then there’s this.
Saturday, during the Sabres-Flyers game, Rasmus Ristolainen passed the puck back to Carter Hutton hoping the goaltender could bail him out of trouble. Instead, Hutton passed the puck to Flyers forward Joel Farabee standing directly in front of him, resulting in a very easy goal.
I’m probably not the first person who thought of this joke, but that’s a freebie for Farabee.
The goal clinched the win for the Flyers, who kept pace with the Washington Capitals in the Metropolitan Division.
The win was the Flyers’ ninth-straight overall.
Personally, I can’t believe this highlight is from a National Hockey League game and not a local beer league. Then again, two weeks ago a Zamboni driver suited up in goal and beat the Toronto Maple Leafs so maybe I should lower my standards.
