Alex Ovechkin has 699 more goals than his son, Sergei. But through his love and encouragement, Ovi clearly wants Ovi Jr to score 1000 more than him if Sergei chooses to be a hockey player.
Friday morning, the Capitals captain took his son out onto the ice at MedStar Capitals Iceplex.
The videos shared by Nastya Ovechkina on her Instagram Story are adorable.
My personal favorite is the two Ovis looking at each other while both holding their sticks.
The Capitals also shared video of Ovechkin carrying Sergei onto the ice while he clutched his tiny hockey stick and a puck. The full squad was practicing as Ovi tried to get Ovi Jr to hit a puck.

Apparently, Sergei liked other players’ sticks more than his own.
