We’re going to need a Game Seven on both coasts as the Sharks and Bruins have forced their first round series to the final night.

Boston Bruins 4, Toronto Maple Leafs 2

    Series tied 3-3

    • Auston Matthews is the third player in Leafs franchise history to record multiple postseason goal streaks of 4-plus games. The others were Gordie Drillon in 1938 and 139 and Dave Andreychuk in 1993.
    • The Bruins and Leafs are the third set of franchises in NHL history to require a Game Seven in three consecutive postseason meetings, joining the Calgary Flames/Vancouver Canucks (1989, 1994, 2004) and New York Rangers/Washington Capitals (2012, 2013, 2015).
    • The Bruins won to survive elimination and force a Game Seven for the 11th time in franchise history and first since 2012 against the Capitals.

San Jose Sharks 2, Vegas Golden Knights 1

    Series tied 3-3

    • Only nine players, including now Tomas Hertl, in league history have scored a shorthanded goal in overtime of a postseason game.
    • Martin Jones stopped 58 of 59 shots sent his way, setting a new Sharks franchise record for most saves in a game. That record was previously held by Jeff Hackett who made 57 saves in a December 1992 game against the Los Angeles Kings.
    • This was the first game of the 2019 playoffs to require multiple overtimes to find a winner.
