TJ Oshie may not have played in Game Five, but he was there in spirit. Oshie, who has been ruled out “indefinitely” following a reported broken collarbone, tweeted before the game that he wanted to hear Capitals fans cheering loud enough to hear through the TV. Fans responded by chanting Oshie’s name in a deafening roar as the Capitals shutout the Canes.
But that was not the only tribute to Oshie. Prior to the game, Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan led Capitals fans in a “Let’s go Caps” chant, which he finished by flipping his jersey over his head and chugging a beer through the jersey, a clear homage TJ Oshie’s now-famous celebration.
