Three games played on Wednesday night, featuring two series getting deadlocked at two wins apiece and another conference leader being put in a big time hole.

Boston Bruins 6, Toronto Maple Leafs 4

    Series tied 2-2

    • Zdeno Chara (42 years, 30 days) is the second oldest defenseman in NHL history to score a goal in the playoffs, behind only Chris Chelios (45 years, 86 days) who did so in 2007 with the Detroit Red Wings.
    • Toronto has lost nine straight Game Fours when they are up 2-1 in the series. Their last 3-1 series lead was in 1987 against Detroit.
    • With Columbus winning their franchise’s first playoff series, the Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers are the only franchises without a playoff series win in the salary cap era.

Dallas Stars 5, Nashville Predators 1

    Series tied 2-2

    • The Stars scored four goals in the opening period alone, chasing Pekka Rinne to the bench.
    • John Klingberg is the fifth different Stars/North Stars defenseman to collect 3-plus assists in one playoff game and the first since Sergei Zubov in 2006 against the Avalanche.
    • Rookie Roope Hintz had two goals for the Stars in the lopsided victory.

Colorado Avalanche 3, Calgary Flames 2

    Colorado leads series 3-1

    • Mikko Rantanen tied the game with 2:50 remaining in regulation and scored the overtime winner.
    • The Avalanche own a 3-1 lead in a playoff series for the first time since 2006 against the Stars.
    • The Avalanche have 108 shots on goal in the last two games against the Flames.
