Before the Caps playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes started a week ago, the timeframe for Game Five was a mystery. Now that the game will happen, we have a definitive start time for the game.

Wednesday afternoon, the Capitals announced that Saturday’s Game Five start time will be 8 pm. It will be broadcast on NBC, SportsNet360, Sportsnet1, and TVA.

The start time of Game 5 of the First Round Series between the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals is 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 20 in Washington.

There are two other playoff games that start earlier than Washington’s, which likely was the determining factor for the 8 pm. start. Game Five between Nashville and Dallas will start at 3 pm., and Game Six between Winnipeg and St. Louis will start at 7 p.m.

For those among us who celebrate Passover at sundown, hold that seder early. Eric Fingerhut predicted a start time of either 3 pm or 8 pm before the official start time was announced.

Game 5 of Caps series sort of conflicts with those having a second night Passover Seder. No time yet, but probably either 3 pm (can start Seder late?) or 8 pm (get started early?).

This isn’t the first time Game Five occurred on the holiday, and fans had to choose between Game Five and their seder start times in 2016.
