The Stanley Cup Playoffs start on Wednesday night, and the NHL has released a commercial that features the teams still in contention for the Stanley Cup.

The video begins with the Capitals celebrating after their Game Five victory in Las Vegas last June.

The video contrasts the highs and lows during the Stanley Cup playoffs, which us Caps fans know all too well.

“Pretty tough feeling,” Steven Stamkos says. “Pretty emotional, almost sick to your stomach with how close you get, how hard you worked to get here and not get it done. Only two teams make it this far, but when you never know when you’re going to get this opportunity again, and you let it slip through your fingers, the only real thing that you have on your mind is that you didn’t get the job done.”

The quote is from Stamkos after the Lightning were defeated in 2014-15 Stanley Cup Finals.

The Capitals kick off the 2019 playoffs on Thursday when they face off against the Carolina Hurricanes at Capital One Arena.
