Dmitrij Jaskin turned 26 on Saturday. The Russian-born Czech forward, who was scratched against the Flyers, had a birthday party at his home Sunday evening with teammates Alex Ovechkin, Evgeny Kuznetsov, and Dmitry Orlov and family.
Jaskin was dressed in a crocodile onesie.
The party took place at Jaskin’s rooftop apartment. Ovi and wife Nastya Ovechkina took a cute couple photo on the roof, which overlooks the Nestle building in Virginia.
Nadi Jaskin, Dmitrij’s wife, captured Dmitrij in the green onesie before the party, dancing with a toy crocodile as the couple prepared for the party. The stuffed animal is Gena the Crocodile, a character from Soviet-era children’s cartoon Cheburashka.
Gena the Crocodile is known for his signature song about a rainy day which happens to be his birthday. Dmitrij, The Hockey Playing Croc, danced as the song played.
The birthday cake also featured a crocodile on a hockey puck exploding out of a cake which also included a Weagle and Jaskin’s #23 jersey.
Ovechkin appears to have been the DJ of the party, parked in a corner with his phone connected to the speakers.
The party wrapped up with music and, uh, dancing.
Jaskin danced to this Russian meme song by Stas Exstas, which is called, appropriately, I Am A Crocodile.
Happy birthday, Dmitrij!
