Newly-acquired forward Carl Hagelin scored his second goal as a Capital Sunday against the Winnipeg Jets.
The speedy penalty killer scored on a breakaway upon exiting the penalty box. The goal was assisted by Nic Dowd.
The stunning play would end up being the game-winning goal.
After intercepting a pass during the final seconds of a penalty kill, Dowd authored an impossibly perfect lob pass to hit Hagelin in stride.
Hagelin went five-hole on Connor Hellebuyck for the tally.
Hot Carl, with his hair flowing, flashed a smile during his Hot Celly.
Caps Twitter had an excellent viral video to sum the play up.

At intermission, Dowd spoke about his sick pass and gave an assist to the Capital One Arena crowd.
“I knew we were at the end of the kill. Honestly, with the crowd’s reaction, I knew that Carl had just come out of the box,” Dowd said to NBC Sports Washington’s Al Koken at intermission. “I just tried to lay it out there with how fast he is, he can probably pick up anything. I just ended up being fortunate it kind of landed right there.”
Koken told Dowd it was the Capitals “pass of the year” in the interview. It’s hard to disagree.
Earlier in the season, Dowd made a similar pass against the Buffalo Sabres.

Hagelin, who was acquired to be a solid penalty killer, now has three points in his last four games. Dowd, the team’s fourth line center, has three in his last seven.
Plays like these make the Capitals dangerous, top from bottom.
