Caps at Islanders pregame: Nuisance in Nassau

The Capitals are back on the road and they’re headed up north to face off against the New York Islanders. The Islanders are coming off a 6-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs (not to mention an absurd meltdown). Hopefully, they’re still tired since the game was only 24 hours ago.

There is nothing more I want in this world than to have a nice cocktail and watch the Capitals win in Long Island. Say your prayers, light your candles, do your lucky dance, or whatever you need for the good ~vibes.

Puck drop is 7PM. Stream the game from your devices on the My Teams app. Christopher from the sweet, sweet comments will be your recapper for the evening.

    Record 37-19-7 36-21-7
    Shot Attempt % 48.5% 48.6%
    PDO 102.8 102.1
    Power Play 16.4% (24th) 22.2% (10th)
    Penalty Kill 80.5% (13th) 78.1% (23rd)

    Projected Lines

The lines are the same. The Caps are winning, so they ain’t changing. People are still mad on twitter about Orpik. The expected lineup is all thanks to Isabelle at the Washington Post:

    Ovechkin – Kuznetsov – Wilson
    Vrana – Backstrom – Oshie
    Burakovsky – Eller – Connolly
    Hagelin – Dowd – Boyd

    Kempny – Carlson
    Orlov – Niskanen
    Orpik – Jensen

    Holtby

    Peaky Blinders

Look at these little Boston kids taking a note from the Bruins and dressing up like characters from Peaky Blinders for their game:

Personally, I think this is super cool because I literally JUST started Peaky Blinders and now I’m almost done. I can’t stop, it’s too good. Every time I have a glass of whiskey now I start to consider betting on horses and mention how I don’t want any trouble with the IRA.

    Storylines

    • Happy Friday. Do you want a list of Devante Smith-Pelly being a damn angel? You got it.
    • Tom Wilson is gonna be signing a bunch of autographs for fans at Giant on Monday. Mark your calendars.
    • The Pittsburgh Penguins always want to be attached to us, don’t they? Lookin’ for excuses like “paying Carl Hagelin to be on our team” and whatnot.
    • Sean Avery is still around and is having NONE of the Islanders fans’ mess.
    • Honestly? Carey Price straight up GUTTED me with this reaction to a little fan.
    • There is now a photo of Alex Ovechkin outside Capital One Arena taken by Nick Backstrom. I would pay good money to see the rest of that photo gallery on Nicky’s phone.
    • Cara is still doing her tour of NHL arenas! Don’t miss her post on southern California (east coast is better but whatever).
    • A George McPhee bobblehead. You heard me.

    NYC Caps Crew

Are you going to BE at the game this evening? Don’t forget to stop by and say hey to the good folks in the NYC Caps Crew (I am very sad that I cannot attend)! They’ll be tailgating, they’ll be loud, and they’ll be having a good time.

If you are going to the Islanders game tomorrow, let us know. We will be tailgating for at least three hours. Look for a creepy van and a lot of red. pic.twitter.com/cWdlgZKylK
