As Nicklas Backstrom arrived at Capital One Arena ahead of the LA Kings game, he did not want to show off his suit.
Instead. Backstrom held up a Christian Djoos’s jersey to the camera.
Djoos made his return from compartment syndrome surgery on Saturday and clearly, Backstrom is happy to have his fellow Swede back.
Backstrom’s affinity for the quiet Swede is well known. The two players shared time together with the Stanley Cup together during the summer. Backstrom, jokingly, credited Djoos for the Caps’ championship. “You said it before. It was clearly the Djoos Effect!”
