After another day of full of training, Alex Ovechkin and his posse (including Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov) headed to FedEx Field to watch a friendly between Brazil and El Salvador.
The Brazilian national team won 5-0 and afterwards, Ovechkin met Neymar, one of the night’s goalscorers, on the pitch in a dream meeting between two 🐐’s.
Ovechkin’s friend Gus captured the meet-up from the stands.
The two players swapped signed jerseys. Ovechkin got Neymar’s jersey autographed by the entire Brazilian national team, while Neymar got a signed Ovi sweater.

But that wasn’t all. Ovechkin, acting like a crazed fan, got a soccer ball signed…
…And a pair of yellow cleats.

Earlier in the evening, Ovechkin and Kuznetsov met up with Redskins players Josh Norman and Derrius Guice and exchanged jerseys as well.
Norman joked with Ovi, asking if he’s “still celebrating.”
Guice commented that “you were turning up for like a week.”

Ovechkin talked shop with Norman about the Redskins’ win last Sunday and also mentioned that he will be in town to watch the Redskins play on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts. Since that will be the same afternoon as the Caps first preseason game against the Bruins in Boston, Ovechkin will likely be out of the lineup.
The Ovechkin posse then headed onto the field to watch Brazil warm up. Both Ovi and Nastya took videos from behind the goal, and Ovi heroically moved to block an errant ball from hitting his wife.
Ovi and company watched the first half from a box, but journeyed back down to the field late in the second half for the dream encounter.
