Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that Lambert’s wedding was on Sunday.
On Sunday, former Capitals assistant coach Lane Lambert had his day with the Cup in his home city of Scottsdale, Arizona. In a day that contained multiple snacks out of the Cup and a tour of the Phoenix Metropolitan area, the biggest surprise came in the news that the former assistant coach was married over the weekend.
Lambert’s day started off with some breakfast. Taylor Lambert, Lane’s daughter, took a page out of Tom Wilson’s Cup day and nommed on some Lucky Charms out of the Stanley Cup Bowl.
Next, the Cup took a trip to the Toro Princess Resort for brunch before it made a quick stop at TPC Scottsdale, home of the Phoenix Open golf championship.

After brunch, Lambert brought the Cup back to his house Scottsdale, where cute Stanley Cup drinks were consumed and a wedding celebration took place. Congratulations to Lane and Annie!
Lambert’s first wife Andi passed away in 2015 after battling a rare form of breast cancer for 17 years.

Handfuls of Lambert’s friends and family took their turns drinking out of the Cup, and a few fateful Cup stands took place.
