Ahead of Game Three, Washington DC shut down streets surrounding Capital One Arena to accommodate a watch party and pregame concert featuring Sting and Shaggy.

This move may have created an unintended consequence: a travel nightmare for players trying to gain access to the arena’s underground parking garage. It appears a few of them got creative.

Caps skaters TJ Oshie and Matt Niskanen were spotted riding a metro car with fans to Capital One Arena.

My husband and I were walking through Metro Center when I noticed two very tall gentlemen in suits–TJ Oshie and Matt Niskanen! I did a triple take because I couldn’t believe it at first! They got on our metro car to Gallery Place with a third gentleman, who was escorting them. The many Caps fans on the train were cool about it, and didn’t bother them, but a bunch if fans did wish them good luck, and they looked very happy and relaxed. At Gallery Place, a metro worker joined them as they exited (they swiped their cards just like us) and they rode. Up the escalator and exited the station to cheers from all the Caps fans.
