The Caps are getting thoroughly whomped in Arizona tonight. Rather than discuss the three goals they gave up and how the Coyotes chased Braden Holtby (who returned for the second period), let’s appreciate some good good dogs.
Ovie the Bulldog, who is my close personal friend, and his sister Saffy Bean were at Gila River Arena, basking in the universal adoration of everyone they meet.
You’ve met Ovie before. He was at the Winter Classic, and most recently we spotted him in LA. Ovie was a DC native before relocating with mom Kim and dad Mike to San Diego a few years back. There he was joined by Saffy, adopted from the excellent west coast rescue Roadogs.
Dogs, when you think about it, are the opposite of a demoralizing, blowout defeat to one of the league’s worst teams, though maybe, inspired by the power of good good dogs, the Caps will turn it around.
Anyway, CSN has the full video, which also features an interesting Shoulder Dog who I really wanna know more about.
Enjoy the game?
