Over the last few weeks, we’ve seen RMNB t-shirts literally everywhere as the Capitals try to march deep into the postseason. We’ve seen them in our Twitter mentions, in our Instagram tags, at Kettler, and at our local Frederick Wegmans. Basically, you guys are insane people and we love you for it.
We were thinking as a group on how to thank you. And this was what we came up with: MAKE MOAR SHIRTS.
Above, you’ll see our first new design, the Sorry, Penguin tee. It’s inspired by this wonderful Ovechkin commercial. If you like your Deadguins tee, then you’ll love wearing this ditty under your jersey too.
Pierre McGuire is Inside The Glass for every big Caps game and he is the absolute worst. From calling Kris Letang “Kristopher” to reciting the junior team and 8th grade science teacher of every player on both teams, McGuire makes your NHL-watching experience worse.
Jeremy Roenick once had a sit down interview with Alex Ovechkin. When the Russian machine was asked about where he got his passion, he started talking instead about the things that he loves. In perfect Runglish. “It’s maybe, I am who I am,” Ovechkin said. “I love to celebration, I love to goals.”
With this t-shirt, now you can too.
A few years ago, I asked Dmitry Orlov how he felt about Evgeny Kuznetsov finally joining the Capitals. He smiled and said to me: “More Russians, more fun.” I feel exactly the same way. With Kuznetsov leading the Capitals in regular season points this season, it’s hard to disagree.
Show how much you love shots vodka with this Russian design.
I was born and raised in Maryland and have made multiple shirts celebrating RMNB’s Maryland-ness. But RMNB is not an Old Line State operation exclusively; we’re also from Virginia. Chris Gordon, who has been with us from almost the very beginning, grew up in Oakton, Virginia. He suggested a “Virginia Is For Hockey Lovers” shirt, which I thought was brilliant. Here’s what I came up with. I hope I did his idea justice.
