There are many ways to appreciate the 18th goal of Jason Chimera’s season, scored in the second period of Sunday’s Caps-Pens game.
You have to see this.
Watch as Chimera drives towards the Penguins net, he gets tied up with Trevor Daley. Marc-Andre Fleury tries to poke-check the puck away, but instead the biscuit goes airborne. Then Ronaldo, I mean Chimera, heads the puck in.
It’s a legal play because Chimera doesn’t crane his neck to try and score. The puck just decided itself to rebound off of Chimera’s coconut as he skates by.
@washcaps Solid form, Chimmer. Solid. 👌⚽️🏒

If only this was the play-by-play.
There was a lengthy review on the play, wherein Chimera’s head and the contact with Fleury were probably discussed, but unlike the rest of recorded history, the Caps’ goal was upheld.
The Caps trail the Pens 2-1, and Jason Chimera is immortal.
