In life’s-not-fair news, former Capital Eric Fehr scored again. Fehr has two goals in his first two games as a Pittsburgh Penguin. Both were short-handed.
Wednesday night’s salvo came on a brilliant individual play. Fehr took Canucks defenseman Yannick Weber to whatever hockey’s equivalent of behind the shed is.
After Radim Vrbata commits an interference penalty, Fehr skates the puck out of the Penguins zone and decides to do everything himself. At the blue line, Fehr dekes the puck with authority onto his backhand and drives hard to he net. Poor Yannick Weber reaches with his stick to try and poke-check the puck away, but Fehr is too strong. As the former Capital approaches the crease, he slips the puck back on his forehand and chips a shot past Ryan Miller‘s blocker.
Watching this goal made my pants fly off my body.
Okay, damn Fehrsie. We get it. You’re good.
Fehr has three points in two games. He’s trolling everyone in sight about it.
Fehr has as many goals this season as Sidney Crosby in ten fewer games.
Fehr 2, Crosby 2 — got a goal race brewing on the Pens

All of the Caps who left over the summer, except the injured Mike Green, are balling. Joel Ward is one of the Sharks’ leading goal scorers, Troy Brouwer is doing his thing in St. Louis, and Fehr is off to a hot start in Pittsburgh.
Another shorthanded goal? Fehr enough. pic.twitter.com/4jf0dLF3xd

The Caps being 8-3 really makes this a lot easier to bare. But stop it with the Fehr puns, Pittsburgh. They’re ours and you can’t have them.
