Russian bros Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov showed some support to their basketball brethren Sunday, taking in the Washington Wizards game at Verizon Center. The Wiz beat the Jazz by 9 and are the top team in the Southeast division. Ovechkin and Kuznetsov, wearing John Wall and Paul Pierce jerseys respectively, watched the game from court side seats.
But the big news was this: the Russian machine met the Polish machine. I am so excited.
Gortat was also excited, writing on Instagram: “It was great to meet Alex “Russian Machine” Ovechkin from Washington Capitols (NHL) MVP and best player in the league! Thx for ur support at the game vs Utah. #uglyGame #weGotTheWin #dsrising”
Kuznetsov also got to meet Paul Pierce…

This isn’t the first time the two have been at a basketball game together. Last March, they went to see the Wizards play the Suns and hung out with Gheorghe Muresan, Wale, and Ted Leonsis.
Ovechkin and an Epix camera crew are in the #Wizards locker room.
