Two weeks ago, after recovering from injury, Capitals defenseman Mike Green scored his second goal in as many games. During the intermission, Green spoke to Al Koken and credited an unusual source for his recovery: banana bread given to him by neighborhood kids.
On Sunday night, injured forward Brooks Laich got his own special surprise from some adorable youngsters: 21 chocolate chip cookies. Or maybe 20. It looks like #21 is half eaten in Caroline’s hand.
Thanks Caroline and Rachel for the 21 freshly baked “get well” chocolate chip cookies, gotta love my neighborhood!! pic.twitter.com/350Dl8KslS

Laich’s girlfriend Julianne Hough thought the whole thing was cute as heck too.
@brookslaich oh my precious!!!

So what does this mean? If we’re going off Mike Green’s previous example, Laich will magically heal this week and score on Wednesday night against the Red Wings. Take it to #thebank.
